Who is LimeKatz?
LimeKatz is essentially me, Kathryn Cruise. I'm a mixed media artist who loves to play with colour and all of the wonderfully delicious art supplies you can think of. I believe art is a great tool for healing.
My name is Kathryn Cruise and I am a mixed media artist. Creativity has always been a part of my life. I have always loved to draw/sketch or be creative in some way and was a keen sewer in my teenage years. So much so that I used to make a lot of my clothing and much to my mothers dislike I made lots of mini skirts :-)
I have dabbled in folk art, painting cartoon characters on plant pots and am always being creative in one way or another.
I believe creativity is in all of us and we just need to learn how to tap in to it.
In the last few years I really found that getting my art groove on has been great therapy for me and brings me much joy. Art journalling was my stepping stone back in to allowing my creativity to be a big part of my life.
I am also part of a local creative group and it's really exciting to see what other locals are doing.
I love that my young daughter shares the same enthusiasm for arts and crafts as me. We are very lucky to have a dedicated art/craft room which allows us to just pop in and get our groove on at any time. My daughter has been known to come in at 6 am in the morning and perhaps do a painting or do a page in her art journal. She is always painting, drawing, writing or making something.
I have had to make sure that I consider her when buying some of my art supplies as I know she is always wanting to try something new.
